Conflict is your story’s secret sauce, supplying tension, relationship friction, and complications to a character’s journey. Losing a baby and having to induce labor to deliver it
Miscarrying after a long struggle with infertility

MINOR COMPLICATIONS:
Having to tell people about the miscarriage
People asking prying or awkward questions
Having to go about life as if nothing had happened (if no one knew about the pregnancy)
A sibling or best friend getting pregnant at the time of the miscarriage
People offering well-meaning but unhelpful advice: You'll have better luck next time, or, Everything happens for a reason.
Having to miss work to recover
Needing to take time off from work or school to process everything but being unable to do so
Needing to avoid pregnant friends for a while
The character feeling pressured to try again before they're ready
The character wanting to try again before their partner is ready
