This document was last updated on March 1st, 2023. The only change made was to the Personal Information and Its Usage section. Previously, our policy stated that user accounts would be deleted (and their personal data erased) after two years of inactivity. The new terms state that this action will now occur if a user hasn’t accessed their account for a period of 6 years and they have no created content for us to store. Accounts will be maintained for any users who don’t meet both criteria.
This Privacy Policy describes how One Stop for Writers stores, maintains, uses, and shares your personal information.
PERSONAL INFORMATION AND ITS USAGE
You provide us with certain Personal Information (detailed in the security section of this document) when you enter or upload information at One Stop for Writers. This information is stored in our secure database. In addition, we may collect information about you and your devices via cookies (which contain no personal identifiers) when you use the site. You consent for us to collect and store this information upon signing up for One Stop and accepting the terms of this policy. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must consent by reading our Parent/Guardian Terms of Use agreement upon registration.
Some of the personal data we collect is for login purposes, while other data allows us to securely store the work you’ve created. As such, we’ll continue to hold onto your personal data as long as you have work stored in your Workspace. However, if 1) you have no created content for us to store and 2) you haven’t accessed your account for a period of 6 years, there is no reason for us to continue holding your data. In this situation, we will close your account and delete your related information.
To best serve you, we will use your personal information to communicate important information about your account and site changes that may impact you. We will only share your personal information with GPDR-compliant third-party organizations necessary to run One Stop for Writers, such as those who process and safeguard your financial information, enable us to send out necessary notifications, and provide our site analytics. We may collect (and record) your permission electronically through our website. In the case of endorsements and testimonials, we may also use your personal information, such as a name and possibly your likeness, for the promotion of our services in media. Outside of the basic site analytics necessary for studying our own business processes and growth, One Stop for Writers will never use, disclose, or sell your Personal Information for research or marketing purposes.
USER CHOICE AND CONTROL
Because you should have control of the personal information being collected, we have made certain options available to you.
Requesting information: You have the right to know what personal data we have collected. This information can be found on the My Account page, in the User Details section. If you’d like to print this information for your own records, simply click the link found there.
Withdrawing Consent: You can withdraw consent for us to collect and store your information at any time. Because we collect the bare minimum of data necessary for you to use One Stop for Writers, withdrawing consent means your account would have to be closed and deleted. Please note that if you withdraw consent during an active subscription, no refunds will be given. Should you wish to withdraw consent, please follow the procedure that follows for Deleting Your Information.
Deleting Your Information: You can choose to have your personal data permanently erased from our database. This would require a closing and erasure of any active accounts, so although you can delete your information at any time, you might choose to do this once you’ve decided to no longer use One Stop for Writers. You can delete your data by visiting the My Account page and clicking the Delete Account button.
SECURITY
Credit Card Information: While credit card information is required for a customer to subscribe to one of our plans, only the last 4 digits of your current card will be stored at One Stop for Writers. All other credit card information (including the number in its entirety) goes directly to Stripe, our third-party commerce provider. This ensures that your financial data is stored in the most secure way possible.
Personal Information: In order to use and log-in to our system, an email, username, and password are required. Your password is encrypted in our database and not decipherable by us. Also, if at any time you submit a support ticket, we’ll collect data about your browser and platform, along with any other information you provide, to aid in resolving the issue.
Secure Communication: Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which all your data is sent between your browser and the One Stop for Writer's website that you are connected to. The 'S' at the end of HTTPS stands for 'Secure'. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted.
Cookies: In order to use our system, a temporary Cookie is set in your browser cache. This Cookie only stores your current browser session information. Cookies are secure as they are only ever sent over Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) ensuring they are encrypted in transit between your browser and the website.
