HELPFUL TIP:

Conflict is your story’s secret sauce, supplying tension, relationship friction, and complications to a character’s journey. It comes in a million different forms, so identify the obstacles and problems that will hit your character the hardest by using the Character Builder to uncover their primary insecurities, fears , and desires. Don’t forget to include everyday conflict scenarios that will frustrate them and keep the pressure high.
CATEGORY:
Duty and responsibility, moral dilemmas and temptations, relationship friction, power struggles, dangers and threats

EXAMPLES:
The character defying a ruler's illegal order or immoral decree
Refusing to comply with an order that violates the character's rights or religious beliefs
Defying an order to stay away from an abused or neglected person or animal
Breaking a restraining order to intervene in a dangerous situation
Ignoring a gag order to expose a cover-up
Refusing to reveal personal or incriminating information under threat of punishment
Defying a parent's attempts to arrange a marriage
Overstaying a visa to preserve one's safety
Lying to police or other authorities to protect someone
Defying court-ordered child custody arrangements 
Refusing to comply with prejudicial or biased systems at work
A teacher or social worker disregarding a parent's orders when they're detrimental to their child
In the case of an emergency, refusing to stop driving when told to do so by a police officer
A soldier going AWOL (Absent Without Leave) to preserve their mental or physical well-being
