Why isn't my coupon code working?
There are a few reasons why the system may not be accepting your coupon code. Here's a troubleshooting checklist to help you determine why your coupon isn't working.
The code isn't being entered correctly. Our coupons are case-sensitive, so the case can be the culprit. Other times, a coupon is rejected because there's a space before or after the code. Be sure to enter the code exactly as it appears (with no rogue spaces). You'll often have the best luck if you copy and paste the code directly from the source.
The coupon is plan-specific. Many of our coupons can be used with any plan. But some coupons are plan-specific—meaning they can only be applied toward a certain subscription. For instance, if you're currently subscribed to the annual plan and you're trying to use a code that only works for the 6-month plan, the code won't be accepted. When a coupon is made available, either here at One Stop or at our Writers Helping Writers blog, details about it will be shared. Those details will tell you if the coupon is plan-specific or if it can be used toward any plan.
The coupon has expired. Each code must be applied to your account prior to the expiration date. Once that date hits, the code will no longer work.
Keep in mind, though, that an accepted code will be added to your account but won't be applied and activated until the next invoice is generated. So though nothing is happening right now, it doesn't mean your coupon hasn't been accepted. You'll know you've been successful when you see a message in the Coupons section of the My Subscription page that tells you the coupon has been added to your account. If you don't see that message, then the coupon hasn't added, likely for one of the reasons listed above. If you've explored those possibilities and still have an issue with a coupon, please reach out to us through the Support Ticketing system.
