CHOOSE MY PLAN

HELPFUL TIP:

There’s probably a good reason why your character chose their career. Think about how certain talents and skills, a dominant positive or negative trait, or even an emotional wound might have influenced this decision. And once they're on the job, don't forget about the many work-related conflict scenarios you can throw at them to create tension and add complications.
OVERVIEW:
Chocolatiers conceptualize and prepare confections and displays made from chocolate. They are intricately involved in the process of production, overseeing others and preparing the recipes to be used. Chocolatiers are responsible for choosing what chocolate to use, tempering, and revising the methods used in making these sweets before testing the finished product. They often have knowledge about the history of the craft as well as the preparation processes that help them determine if the final quality is acceptable.

NECESSARY TRAINING:
An associate's degree from a bakery and pastry arts program is not required but is highly encouraged, as is additional training at a chocolate school. Apprenticeships are also helpful. It's not uncommon for someone in this field to begin as a pastry chef or baker before becoming a chocolatier.
