CHOOSE MY PLAN

HELPFUL TIP:

There’s probably a good reason why your character chose their career. Think about how certain talents and skills, a dominant positive or negative trait, or even an emotional wound might have influenced this decision. And once they're on the job, don't forget about the many work-related conflict scenarios you can throw at them to create tension and add complications.
OVERVIEW:
Nearly every industry, from filmmaking to nutrition to education, employs social media managers. These people are responsible for creating and maintaining the company or industry's online presence while appealing to customers and promoting the establishment's brand. Duties might include running a blog, responding to emails, monitoring and updating a website, and managing social media platforms.

People in this field can work at the office or from home. If they freelance, they may juggle several clients or work on a part-time basis.

NECESSARY TRAINING:
While some professional companies are looking for social media managers with four-year degrees in a field like journalism or marketing, this isn't always the case. Many times, applicants can prove their competency and skillset to potential employers via their own social media accounts, so those will need to be nurtured and well-maintained. Starting out as a freelancer to gain experience and learn necessary skills is also common. Both avenues give social media managers the opportunity to learn the various platforms inside and out so they can use them to interact with customers and promote the company's brand.
