Settings should always be chosen with care. Consider the emotion you want your viewpoint character to feel and how setting choices, weather elements, and symbolism might build a specific mood in the scene, create tension and conflict, or even raise the stakes.
SIGHTS:
A hatch-type door that slants into a grassy hillside and leads down into the ground
Exposed pipes with mesh to allow for drainage and airflow ventilation
Cement casing walls and steps leading down into the earth
A secondary door at the bottom of the stairs
A floor made of bricks or concrete with a drain
